Kisuka

Unfiltered streetwear experiments from a teenager with zero budget, questionable taste, and lots of ambition. Kisuka was my first foray into design, a creative stab at streetwear. This artefact holds the remnants of early explorations, over 100 mockups, a graffiti-inspired logo, and a single hoodie sample. One that I still wear today.

EARLY EXCESS

Kisuka was built on early exploration. At 16, I created over 80 streetwear mockups, designing every piece in Illustrator and Photoshop. Admittedly, today the designs are a bit dated, and taste always evolves, but during the streetwear surge, they weren't bad for a 16 year old.

The concept focused on mainly graphics, with reference to skate culture, and inspiration from big brands at the time like Pleasures and Passport. Though the brand never launched, this grid showcases the interest and creativity that defined my first steps into design. It's a snapshot of where it all began, unpolished, ambitious, and unapologetically mine.

EXPLORATORY FORM

This Kisuka logo graphic is a graffiti-inspired design I created in Illustrator. Constructed using a series of circles, inter-connected with curves, the design looks liquid. The pink gradient adds a vibrant touch, reflecting the bold, eye-catching graffiti style I was drawn to at the time.

Even now, this piece feels unique. A reminder of an early start in exploration. My outlet being design.
